Affordable Therapy Program
Low Cost Therapy Options

What is the affordable therapy program?

The affordable therapy program is our mental health support service that provides professional counselling and psychotherapy treatment at a cost-effective price. This program aims to make mental health care accessible to individuals with varying financial situations by offering sliding-scale fees for clients who may otherwise have financial difficulty affording therapy, and have little or no insurance coverage options.

Select therapists on our team, therapist interns, are able to provide their services at a much lower cost, thereby reducing the financial barrier to accessing mental heath support. By utilizing this program, clients can effectively address their emotional and psychological needs without breaking the bank. Booking a session under this program is $65+hst per hour for an individual one-on-one session, and  $75+hst per hour for a couples session.

What is a therapy intern?

A therapy intern is an individual who is in the process of completing their education and training in a therapeutic field, such as psychology, counselling, or social work. This is often the last step in completing their degree. Most interns at our clinic have already been licensed with the regulatory college (CRPO).

They work under the close supervision of an experienced and licensed professional to gain practical experience in providing therapy services. During their internship, therapy interns apply the knowledge and skills they have learned in their academic coursework to real-life situations, while also receiving feedback and guidance from their supervisors. This hands-on experience is a crucial component of their professional development and is often required for licensure or certification in their chosen field.

Therapy interns must pass multiple checkpoints throughout their program to ensure they are ready to begin this stage of their degree. They work under the supervision of experienced therapists and are committed to providing quality care to those they serve.

What are the benefits of working with a therapy intern?

It goes without saying that a huge factor when choosing an intern therapist & the affordable therapy program, is the affordability factor. This program makes mental health care more accessible for individuals who may not have the financial means to seek therapy otherwise. This makes therapy more accessible for individuals who may not have the financial means to afford a fully-licensed therapist.

Just as important to note, therapy interns bring fresh perspectives and approaches to their work. They are up-to-date with the latest research, techniques, and theories in the field of mental health. With their curiosity and enthusiasm, they are likely to be open to exploring new and innovative ways of addressing clients' concerns. This eagerness to learn and adapt can lead to more effective treatment plans tailored to each individual's unique circumstances.

Not to mention, therapy interns often have more flexible schedules, as they usually carry a lighter caseload than fully-licensed therapists. This means that they may be more available for appointments, making it easier for clients to find a time that works best for them and maintain a consistent therapy schedule.

Rest assured, therapy interns are closely supervised by experienced, licensed professionals. This ensures that clients receive high-quality care, as the intern's work is consistently reviewed and guided by their supervisors. Clients can feel confident knowing that their therapy sessions are supported by a team of skilled mental health professionals.

Lastly, by choosing a therapy intern, you are contributing to their professional growth. As clients, your feedback and experiences help shape the intern's therapeutic style and skills, ultimately enabling them to become better therapists in the future. This mutually beneficial relationship fosters a strong sense of purpose and collaboration.
