Hi, I'm Trisha.

Sometimes you know exactly what you're struggling with. Other times, you just know that the way you've been feeling, thinking, or coping isn't working anymore.

You may be living with depression or intense emotions, struggling with your sense of self, finding relationships difficult to navigate, or noticing patterns you understand intellectually but can't seem to change. Perhaps ADHD makes everyday life feel harder than it seems to be for everyone else. You may be coping with trauma, grief, self-harm, or thoughts of suicide, or carrying experiences that feel difficult to talk about with the people around you.

I work with teens 16+, young adults, and adults who want support not only managing what they're experiencing, but understanding what may be underneath it.

My approach to therapy balances practical support with deeper exploration. Sometimes we need tools that help us get through a difficult day, regulate an overwhelming emotion, or respond differently to a familiar situation. At other times, it can be helpful to slow down and become curious about where our patterns came from, what they may have once protected us from, and whether they still serve us now.

I have particular experience supporting people experiencing depression and other mood concerns, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), ADHD, emotional regulation difficulties, self-esteem and identity concerns, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts.

My own experiences with mental health were part of what led me to become a therapist. They taught me that knowing the theory behind mental health and actually living through something difficult are not the same thing. While everyone's experience is different, this perspective influences the empathy, curiosity, and lack of judgment I try to bring into the therapy room.

As a first-generation immigrant from the Philippines, I also understand that our mental health doesn't exist separately from our culture, family, identity, or the expectations we've grown up with. For clients who want to explore these parts of themselves, therapy can be a space to understand how those experiences have shaped who they are without assuming there is one "right" way to think, feel, or live.

Therapy with me is integrative and person-centred. I frequently draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and psychodynamic approaches. Rather than expecting one type of therapy to work for everyone, we'll consider what you need, what feels useful, and what you're hoping to change.

Through my clinical work, I've supported clients from diverse backgrounds navigating a range of mental health concerns, from everyday stressors to more complex emotional experiences. My training includes a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, a Graduate Certificate in Mental Health Intervention, Mental Health First Aid, and suicide awareness and intervention training.

You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We can begin with what feels hardest right now and work from there.
