Children’s Therapy
What your child may be experiencing:
Children often show us how they feel through their behaviour long before they find the words. You might be noticing big emotions, worries at school, changes in sleep, challenges with friendships, or outbursts that feel hard to understand.
Some children become quieter and withdraw. Others become more reactive or overwhelmed by even small stresses. These responses often speak to a deeper need for safety, connection, and support.
You are not alone in wondering how to help. Many parents reach out when their child’s emotions begin affecting home routines, school performance, or the overall calm in the house.
How we help children feel understood and supported:
Our approach is warm, developmentally informed, and rooted in helping your child feel safe enough to open up. We use play based activities, creative expression, and gentle conversations that allow children to explore what is happening inside with less pressure.
Therapists support children in building emotional language, learning to self regulate, increasing confidence, and understanding why certain moments feel so big. Parents are guided with practical strategies so home life feels more manageable.
What therapy looks like for your child:
Sessions move at your child’s pace. We focus first on building trust so your child feels safe, seen, and free to express themselves. As comfort grows, therapy becomes a place to make sense of feelings, practice new skills, and understand their inner world with more clarity.
Parents are included through regular updates, supportive guidance, and check ins that help strengthen connection and communication at home.
What changes you may notice after therapy:
Parents often share that their child becomes more able to express their feelings, manage stress, and communicate with fewer emotional explosions. Daily routines often feel smoother and children show increased confidence and emotional awareness.
Many families describe feeling more connected and supported as everyone understands each other more clearly.
Where we offer children’s sessions:
Children’s therapy is offered in person at our Barrie and Newmarket clinics. Parent sessions and follow ups can also be held virtually anywhere in Ontario, giving you flexibility and support when you need it.
