 Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Many people come to therapy feeling stuck between who they are and who they are expected to be. Cultural values, parental expectations, and social pressures can quietly shape identity, often leading to anxiety, self doubt, or a sense of not fully belonging anywhere. If you find yourself questioning who you are beneath these expectations, you are not alone.

My name is Heala Maudoodi, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist Qualifying. I offer a warm, thoughtful, and culturally sensitive space where you can explore identity, mental health, and personal growth with curiosity and compassion. I am particularly passionate about supporting young adults and adults who feel held back by cultural or familial expectations and are working toward feeling more comfortable and grounded in their own skin.

My interest in therapy grew from a long standing fascination with how the mind works. With a background in psychological research and neuroscience, I have always been drawn to understanding the connection between the brain, emotions, and behaviour. This foundation informs my humanistic and person centered approach, where therapy is collaborative and shaped by your lived experience rather than rigid expectations.

I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, identity confusion, and major life transitions, as well as those living with more complex mental health concerns such as bipolar disorder, severe addiction, and concurrent conditions. I also support individuals navigating crisis, self harming behaviours, and the long term impact of trauma, always with care, respect, and an emphasis on safety.

As a first generation South Asian and Middle Eastern immigrant, I bring a deep understanding of the ways culture, migration, and intergenerational dynamics can influence identity and mental health. I support clients in navigating parental expectations, cultural values, and the pressures of social media and societal comparison, while exploring how to build a sense of self that feels authentic and self directed. I am fluent in Farsi and Dari and offer therapy in both languages.

My approach is trauma informed, culturally sensitive, and strength based. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and compassion focused approaches, while remaining grounded in a relational and emotionally attuned therapeutic relationship. Therapy with me is paced thoughtfully and designed to help you reconnect with your values, develop resilience, and move toward meaningful change.

I work with adults ages 18 and up, offering individual and family therapy in person and virtually. Whether you are navigating identity concerns, cultural conflict, mental health challenges, or simply seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, I am here to walk alongside you with respect and care.
