Registered Social Worker
Hello, I’m Jennifer.
I’m a Registered Social Worker with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals, children, and families through life’s most challenging moments. My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and grounded in compassion and respect. I believe that no matter what brings you to therapy, whether it’s family stress, relationship conflict, or your child’s emotional wellbeing, healing begins in a space where you feel truly heard and supported.
My professional journey has taken me across diverse roles in social work, from managing a group home for Carrie’s Place Autism Services, to working as a clinician within the Toronto District School Board, to serving as a Child Protection Worker with Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the complex ways that relationships, mental health, and environment shape our wellbeing.
Couples & Family Therapy
I’m particularly passionate about working with couples and families navigating high conflict, communication breakdowns, or relationship transitions such as separation or divorce. My goal is to help couples slow down reactivity, find empathy for each other’s experiences, and rebuild trust through healthier communication and emotional connection. I understand how hard it can be when your relationship feels strained, and I offer a supportive space to work through conflict and rediscover your foundation as partners and as a family.
Child & Youth Therapy
I also have a deep passion for supporting children and youth (ages 5 and up). I help children develop coping and social life skills, navigate conflict and school adjustments, and manage emotions like anxiety, frustration, or sadness. My background in school-based social work gives me a unique lens into the challenges young people face, from social struggles to separation anxiety and emotional regulation. I love working not just with children, but with the entire family unit, helping parents and caregivers understand and respond to their child’s needs with confidence and compassion.
My therapeutic approach is holistic and integrative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), art therapy, motivational interviewing, and collaborative role-play when appropriate. I also offer faith-based therapy for clients who wish to integrate spirituality into their healing process.
As a minister’s wife, I bring both humour and humility to my sessions. I know that life is messy, relationships are complicated, and growth often happens in small, brave steps. I’m fluent in English, French, and African dialects, and I work with clients from diverse cultural and spiritual backgrounds.
Whether you’re seeking support for your child, your relationship, or yourself, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you and your family as you move toward greater understanding, connection, and peace.
