A little about me

Life can feel heavy when you're constantly trying to keep everything together. You may be managing anxiety, questioning yourself, struggling through a relationship, or going through a change that has left you feeling less like yourself. Sometimes you know exactly what isn't working. Other times, you just know you're tired of feeling this way.

I often work with people who have become very good at taking care of everyone else. You may find yourself saying yes when you want to say no, worrying about disappointing people, replaying conversations afterward, or feeling responsible for how other people feel. Over time, it can become difficult to know where other people's expectations end and your own needs begin. Therapy can help us understand where these patterns came from while building boundaries that don't require you to become a completely different person.

Relationships can bring many of these patterns to the surface. I support individuals and couples navigating communication difficulties, conflict, trust, emotional distance, and recurring patterns that seem to lead back to the same arguments. Rather than focusing only on who said or did what, we can slow things down and look at what's happening underneath—the needs, fears, expectations, and experiences each person may be bringing into the relationship.

You can care deeply about other people without losing yourself in the process.

I also work with children ages 7 and up and with families. Children don't always have the words to explain what they're feeling, and their emotions may show up through behaviour, worry, frustration, withdrawal, or difficulty coping with change. I work to create an environment where children can express themselves in ways that feel natural to them, while helping parents and caregivers better understand what their child may be communicating and how they can support them.

My approach is collaborative and tailored to the person in front of me. Depending on what you need, our work may involve understanding patterns, developing practical coping strategies, strengthening communication, building self-esteem, or learning to respond differently to difficult thoughts and emotions. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can be honest about what's happening without feeling judged or pressured to have everything figured out.

As a Farsi-speaking therapist, I am also mindful of the ways culture, family expectations, identity, and relationships can shape how we understand ourselves and what we believe is expected of us. For Farsi-speaking clients who would feel more comfortable expressing themselves in Farsi, therapy can be offered in the language that feels most natural to you.
