Starting therapy can bring up many different emotions. You might feel unsure, nervous, or overwhelmed about taking this next step. Many people worry about opening up, carry doubts from previous counselling, or fear being judged or misunderstood. These feelings can be a natural part of deciding to begin therapy.
My goal is to help make therapy feel like a safe, supportive, and collaborative space where you can show up just as you are. I work from a holistic, culturally inclusive, and individualized approach, drawing from an eclectic range of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Sex Therapy-Informed, the Gottman Method, and IFS-informed work. This allows therapy to be flexible and responsive to your unique experiences, values, goals, and needs. Therapy is not about fitting you into a single model, it is about finding what works best for you!
I place strong importance on building a genuine, open, and respectful therapeutic relationship. Together, we will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, focusing on creating a welcoming environment that supports your growth, self-understanding, and confidence in the counselling process.
I work with adolescents, adults, and couples, including individuals living with chronic illness. I support clients in navigating the emotional, relational, and identity-related impacts of chronic health conditions, such as grief, stress, changes in self-concept, and relationship dynamics, while building coping strategies and self-compassion.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist and a graduate of the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. I completed my undergraduate degree at McMaster University in Biology and Psychology. Over the past two years, I have worked as a Youth Worker with the non-profit organization 360 Kids, where I supported youth and families through rapport-building, informal counselling, skills-based interventions, and connection to community resources. I have also volunteered with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) for three years as a facilitator for an Adult Support Group for Depression, where I provided confidential, compassionate, and encouraging support in a group setting.
If you’re considering therapy and would like to see if we’re a good fit, you’re welcome to book a free 15-minute consultation. This is a no-pressure opportunity to ask questions, share what you’re hoping for, and explore whether working together feels like the right next step!
