Ghazaleh Salahi

Headshot of Ghazaleh Salahi, Registered Psychotherapist specializing in trauma, anxiety, eating disorders, and relationship therapy.

Are you feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, shame, depression, or the lingering effects of trauma and loss? Do you long for deeper self-understanding or more fulfilling relationships with yourself and others? I’m here to offer compassionate support and help you find your way toward healing.

With over 10 years of experience, I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating emotional pain, inner conflict, and life transitions. My practice is rooted in a trauma-informed, client-centred, and anti-oppressive framework, where I aim to empower you to rediscover your strength and resilience. My approach is non-pathologizing, and I focus on understanding your unique experiences without reducing them to labels or diagnoses. We’ll explore your challenges in a way that feels respectful and holistic, and work toward lasting growth and change.

Specialties and Approach:

Trauma and Complex PTSD: If you're carrying the weight of past trauma or experiencing the effects of Complex PTSD, my trauma-informed approach will help you process these experiences in a safe and nurturing space. Using Internal Family Systems (IFS), we’ll explore the different parts of yourself that may be holding onto unresolved pain, so you can reclaim your sense of wholeness.

Anxiety and Depression: Anxiety and depression can make life feel overwhelming, but I believe that healing is possible. Through Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), we’ll work together to explore the underlying thoughts and emotional patterns contributing to your distress. You’ll develop tools for managing difficult emotions and building a sense of calm and control.

Eating Disorders and Body Image: If you’re struggling with an eating disorder or negative body image, it’s important to know that you’re not alone. My approach is rooted in empathy and understanding, and I’ll help you explore your relationship with food and body in a non-judgmental way. We’ll work together to build a healthier, more compassionate relationship with yourself, free from shame.

Relationship and Attachment Issues: In relationships, we often carry patterns from our past that influence how we connect with others. Through Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method, I help couples rebuild trust, deepen emotional connection, and work through conflict with care. In Family Systems Therapy, I focus on intergenerational patterns and roles, helping families foster emotional safety and healthier communication.

Working with Shame: Shame is a powerful and often painful emotion that can hold us back from fully embracing who we are. If you’ve been carrying feelings of shame, whether related to past experiences or the way you view yourself, I’m here to help you work through that. In therapy, we’ll explore the roots of your shame in a gentle, non-judgmental way. Together, we’ll challenge the negative beliefs you hold about yourself, helping you reconnect with your intrinsic worth and reclaim your sense of self. Healing from shame is possible, and my goal is to support you in letting go of those burdens so you can experience greater self-compassion and confidence.

What You Can Expect:

Whether you're beginning therapy for the first time or returning to deepen your healing, you’ll find a calm, non-judgmental space where growth can unfold. I offer a culturally sensitive approach, providing therapy in Farsi (Persian) for clients who prefer to work in their native language. Together, we will explore your emotional world, develop strategies for coping, and work toward creating more fulfilling relationships—with yourself and others.

I believe in meeting you where you are, supporting you through the tough times, and helping you move toward the life you deserve. If you're ready to begin your journey, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to explore whether we’re a good fit.
